Wings For Wishes (WFW) was founded in February of 2011 by Eric Kendall. The inspiration for Wings For Wishes is a young man by the name of Dylan Levy. His father, Noah Levy was a classmate of Eric's wife. Little Dylan was diagnosed with BA (a sick liver) at a young age. Long story short, in the winter if 2010 Make-A-Wish stepped in and made Dylan's wish of wanting to see snow come true. Eric was moved by what Make-A-Wish did for Dylan and his family, and Eric wanted so bad to do his part and help Make-A-Wish Foundation grant more wishes like Dylan, Thus the birth of Wings For Wishes. Please feel free to read more about Dylan Levy through the link at the bottom of this page. Wings For Wishes is an annual fun fly event held in Polson Montana to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation Of Montana, with the unique design of the event 100% profit/proceeds are donated. In other words, every dime that comes in to the event goes to Make-A-Wish Foundation Of Montana.
We raise money for the foundation through several different ways at this event:
When Pilots come to the fun fly they pay a landing fee, Raffle tickets are sold for various items such as gift certificates, glues/ epoxies, T-shirts etc. as well as the silent bid for the auction items. In 2011 we had a Balsa U.S.A. 1/6 scale Sopwith Pup, a T-Rex 450 on the auction block. We also have a BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, etc. If you would like to see our spot on Make-A-Wish Foundation web site feel free to look at the hyper links below
The first year, Eric single handedly , "one man wrecking ball" as Kirby Couvillion put it, designed, created, and assembled this event. He had lots of support the day of the event, This is where he met the now board of directors Kirby Couvillion of Libby Montana. Eric was overwhelmed with the response he got from the event he had no choice but to continue with the event, thus employing the board of directors. The 2011 WFW brought pilots in from Eureka, Missoula Montana, Athol,Idaho. "We had a packed field" Eric said. We managed to pull off a flawless event so lets do it again and go bigger.
